Hi, I’m Jalen!!
Since you listen to me yap on end, I feel it's only
right to share a little about myself, so here goes!
I’ve always been pretty curious about the world around me –
about how culture shapes who we are, how community ties us
together, and how intellectual thought sparks great
conversations & meaningful change.
This was inspired by my life growing up. I was lucky to be surrounded by
a mix of diverse perspectives, whether it was friends/family members,
teachers, television shows, books, or places I traveled. These combined experiences
taught me that the best conversations often happen when we share our stories and ideas with one another with the intention to learn and connect. This led me to creating Jay’s Conversations.
Each episode is a blend of my passion for these topics, commitment to exploring new perspectives and creating opportunities for others to share their brilliant minds & work. So, if you also find yourself curious about the world and seeking new avenues to explore what it has to offer, I welcome you to join our community!

Hey, I’m Alyse Marie!!
Producer and twin yapper of your host, Jay.
Art has kept my opinions popping, the wine flowing, and breath in my body. It has made me dare to take risks, become even more curious about the world, and step into purpose fearlessly (mostly!).
I love discussions often sparked from film, theater, books, and television. The power artistry and culture have to teach us, emboldened us, humanize us to the point of knowing that we are not so different from one another—amazes me every time I’m reminded and affected by its beauty.
These things, along with the divine, Capricorn connection to your host, led me to jump at the idea to bring Jay’s Conversations to life. It is a privilege to see this podcast live and breathe beyond a paper, mic, and camera. So, thank you for joining this community, and listening with open minds and hearts. My name is Blake Stauffer, and I am an Appalachian native from southern West Virginia, and I now live in Southern California after finishing my studies of Communications & Political Science at USC.
I've been lucky to work on an array of efforts for this amazing project. From website design and branding, editing, social media management, and production efforts, I hope you enjoy my contributions to Jay's Conversations as much as I have.
I've been passionate about storytelling through art and media making for as long as I can remember, constantly experimenting with different mediums of expression. With that, I found a love for design and public relation work as a teenager, and I've been working in the space ever since.
I truly crave the art of debate and deep, intellectual conversation, my earliest connection with your host. As Jalen can attest, there is rarely a moment I am quiet or void of some opinion, which makes me feel right at home here! (Maybe he'll even hand me a mic one day..)
