Tempe, AZ, April 1, 2026: Jay’s Conversations Bookstore opens at the Culdesac - Tempe for a Grand Opening on Saturday, April 11th, 2026, from 11 am to 7 pm (2036 E Wildermuth Avenue, Unit 1248). The first 100 customers can receive complimentary matcha lattes from Matcha Club AZ, limited to 11 am to 3 pm. Local artist DJ Pootie Cat is set to perform from 5 pm to 7 pm.

“We’ve hosted community events around Phoenix since the beginning of this year,” owner Jalen Layfield said. “The way everyone shows up has been incredible. Each of us needed a space to share and learn together. To be in community, in times like this, is such an important thing.”

Layfield began his post-grad journey with a vision: the stability of our future requires the building of spaces for community, connection, and intellectual thought. His media company, Jay’s Conversations, works to do just that. Now, his initiative turns ‘brick and mortar’.

Jay’s Conversations found its audience online, attracting mostly 18-35 year olds through Instagram and TikTok algorithms. His platforms have garnered over 4,000 followers (@JaysConversations). Leveraging these online platforms, Layfield provides in-person connection to people who are in need of community.
